Setting: Genesis 13:13
Niqmaddu is all I could want in a husband. He is agreeable with our parents, as he is with most everyone. He is skillful in his trade, and he is clever enough to win for our family more than our fair share of prosperity.
I am not sure that my sister is quite as happy with her husband as I am with mine. But happiness, I find, is dependant upon realistic expectation, and when I count my blessings at night, I find much for which to be thankful.
I am not sure she is as content as I to live here in Sodom, either. But human nature, I suppose, is more a less a constant, regardless of which wind one follows and for how long. From Thebes to Charchemish to Sus, the rest of the world is surely no more wicked or more righteous than Sodom. Learn to laugh or spend your nights weeping, if you are strong enough the choice is yours.
